Yaşam içerisinde, fiziksel, güvenlik, ait olma ve diğer temel ihtiyaçların karşılanabilmesi amacında birçok nesneye ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bununla birlikte günümüzde bu ihtiyaçlar doğrultusunda endüstriyel üretim sürecine geçilmiştir. Bu endüstriyel nesneler seri üretim bandından geçerek kullanıma hazır duruma getirilir. Bireylerin beslenme, korunma, sosyal ilişkilerini geliştirme vb. ihtiyaçların karşılanması için elde ettiği nesnelerle bir ilişki içerisine girmektedirler. Yaşamlar/Lives çalışmasında kişilerin temel ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda elde ettiği endüstriyel seramik nesnelerden bir yerleştirme yapılmıştır. Gündelik yaşam içinde bireylerin seramik nesneleri, amacı doğrultusunda kullanım biçimiyle gerçekleştirdiği bu eylemin yanı sıra nesnelerle görünmez bir ilişki kurulmaktadır. Buna bir örnek vermek gerekirse; Asker çocuğu olan bir kişinin babasının hediye aldığı seramik bardak ile bir içselleşme durumu görülmektedir. Görevi sırasında şehit olan babasından izler taşıyan bu seramik bardak, kişi ile babası arasında yüklenen bir metafor eylemi sağlamaktadır. Bu seramik nesnelerin her biri, bir bireyi temsil ederken, yüzeylerine yansıtılan videolar, nesnenin sahip olduğu kişilerden izler taşımaktadır. Yansıtılan videolar, nesnenin durağan durumundan sıyrılarak hareketli bir biçime dönüşmesini sağlayarak, cansız ve durağan biçiminden kendi yaşamını anlatmak üzere hareketli bir biçime dönüşmektedir.
In life, various objects are needed to meet the fundamental needs such as physical, security, belonging, and others. Nowadays, industrial production processes have been adopted to meet these needs. These industrial objects go through the production line and are made ready for use. Individuals establish a relationship with the objects they obtain to meet their needs for nutrition, protection, social relationships, and more. In the “Lives” project, placements are made using industrial ceramic objects obtained in line with individuals’ basic needs. In everyday life, individuals not only use ceramic objects according to their intended purpose but also establish an invisible connection with these objects. To give an example, a person with a military background may experience a sense of internalization with a ceramic mug given as a gift by their father. This ceramic mug, which carries traces of the father who died in the line of duty, serves as a metaphorical act that connects the individual with their father. Each of these ceramic objects represents an individual, and the videos reflected on their surfaces carry traces of the people associated with the object. The reflected videos transform the object from a static state into a dynamic form, transitioning from lifeless and static to a dynamic form to tell their own stories.
